ESTABLISHMENT

According to Article 51 of the Law No. 2547, Izmir Institute of Technology Information Technology Department was established.

  • To fulfil the IT services that the Institute will need,
  • Planning and making in-service computer training programs,
  • To plan the IT tasks of the Institute, to coordinate the applications,
  • Organizing the establishment and operation of the institute’s computer communication network,
  • To follow the technical developments and ensure their implementation in the Institute,
  • To make computer programs used by the Institute and its affiliated units, to increase their quality, to compile, to compile, to ensure their use,
  • To provide maintenance, repair, and operation of computing devices,
  • To ensure that existing resources such as people and materials are used in the most appropriate and efficient way to carry out service activities in an economical and effective way,
  • To supervise the activities of the affiliated units, to convey the results to the Secretary General and to ensure the flow of information,
  • To supervise the subordinate personnel continuously and periodically to ensure that the works of the unit are carried out with minimum cost, within the framework of the determined quality, quantity and time standards.
  • To determine general policies at the management level and policies compatible with group policies regarding the activities specified as the main function of the unit and directly managed, and to make suggestions to the Secretary General in this regard,
  • To prepare the annual work programs in cooperation with the relevant units, to present them to the Secretary General,
  • To ensure that subordinates understand the determined policies and that the determined activities are implemented.
  • To determine future targets and standards with the personnel, place, material, and other resources allocated to the unit for the execution, direction and evaluation of the unit’s activities,
  • Programming and scheduling the activities of himself and his subordinates so that the activities determined as the main function can be carried out effectively, efficiently, economically and with quality.
  • Trying to connect routine works to forms, simplifying things, and conveying the result to the Secretary General.
  • To establish an uninterrupted, harmonious communication and cooperation system between the personnel of the unit and the personnel of other units that have an organic duty relationship with them, and to propose them to the Secretary General for approval.
  • To establish, maintain and develop an effective recording and file system within the unit.
  • To delegate the necessary level of responsibility and authority to the subordinates for the effective implementation and execution of the unit’s activities, and to retain the responsibility and authority for the results.
  • To determine the issues that require changes in the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of the staff in the unit and the special qualifications sought for those who will be appointed to these staff positions, and to propose them to the Secretary General.
  • To make suggestions to the Secretary General in the selection, dismissal, promotion, and appointment, rewarding and punishment of the necessary personnel for the execution of the department’s activities.
  • To examine and evaluate the suggestions regarding personnel movements conveyed to him by his subordinates, and to make suggestions to the Secretary General.
  • To examine, evaluate and approve the suggestions regarding personnel movements conveyed to him by his subordinates.
  • To continuously identify the training needs of the personnel and to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and equipment to fulfil their responsibilities. To examine the in-service training needs suggested by the subordinates and to prepare programs in this regard. to the Secretary General,
  • To provide necessary direction for subordinates, to coordinate their work, to assist when necessary.
  • To transfer the work and documents transferred to the Presidency to the subordinates and ensure that they are necessary, to prepare the reply letters, to follow the signatures of the daily works and to conclude them,

  • Checking the arrivals and departures of the subordinate personnel to and from the daily shift, and taking necessary action against the personnel who interrupt their working hours,

  • The authority to decide, take measures and implement the duties of the Presidency in accordance with the programs approved by the Rectorate,

  • The authority to make suggestions to the Secretary General for personnel transactions such as giving excuses up to half a day, determining the times of annual leave, appreciation, awards, relocation, etc. to the personnel affiliated to the Presidency,
  • Authorization to make suggestions to the Secretary General in order to take new measures and powers on the issues he needs.
  • As the registrar, the authority to give records to its personnel and to propose disciplinary penalties stipulated in the disciplinary regulation,
