For Standalone Usage

This license type is for standalone usage, so matlab will also work out of campus.

End Users: Download the Installer

  1. Create a MathWorks Account using IYTE email address:
  2. Go to the License Center:
  3. Click Add License in the upper right hand corner.
  4. Choose Associate by Activation Key and click Continue.
  5. When prompted to do so, enter the Activation Key that your administrator gave you. (Request your activation key from your Administrator)
  6. Out of campus you can use Mathworks Download Links In IYTE campus you can use the following links for downloading iso files faster.

  7. Mount downloaded iso and begin installation. In linux, mac and windows10 operating systems you can directly mount iso files. In past windows operating systems you should use Virtual CDROM softwares to mount iso files.
You can check here for detailed explanation about mounting iso files

End Users: Install and Activate

  1. Start the installer:
    • After mounting iso file as CDROM click setup.exe file for Windows
    • After mounting iso file go to terminal and run ./install command for Linux
    • After mounting iso file as CDROM click InstallForMacOSX file for MacOS X
  2. In the MathWorks installer, select Log in with a MathWorks Account and follow the online instructions.
  3. When prompted to do so, select the license you want to use.
  4. Select the products you want to install.
  5. After downloading and installing your products, keep the Activate MATLAB checkbox selected and click Next.

For Campus Desktops & Lab Computers

This license type is for in campus usage (Labs and Office desktops) so when matlab cannot connect to Campus License Server it will not run

  1. Lab Staff does not need to create an account for lab computer installations.
  2. Download the iso file according to the operating system of the lab computers
  3. Mount the iso file and start setup
  4. Choose activate manually without internet option
  5. Use file installation key for 2016a
  6. Click to Download license.dat file for Matlab 2016a
